Was interested in mountain climbing from earlier year collected details from Illustrated Weekly of the First Everest Climb in 1953 still retained the collection.
Later in 1948, was a Bulbul, enrolled as a Girl Guide in 1952 in The Home School, run by Miss M.E.Robinson & Miss Donne, Missioners. Completed the Bharat Guide Badge and attended the first rally in New Delhi. Met Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, then the Prime Minister of India and other Ministers in 1959. Participated in a number of National Jamborees and other camps.
Met Lady Baden Powell, wife of the Scout/Guide Movement in 1961, during her visit to Pachmarhi, M.P.
Attended various camps, completed my Assistant Leader Trainer & leader Trainer’s Course in 1966 and 1971.
Participated in Rock climbing course at Pachmarhi in 1962 and 1963.
Represented India at the World Association Training on World Association of Girl Guides & Girl Scouts sponsored by the Folk Memorial Fund in 1970.
Attended the Ladies Basic Mountaineering Course at the Himalayan Mountaineering Course in Darjeeling in 1963 representing Bharat Scouts and Guides.
Attended the Ladies Advance Mountaineering Course at the same Institute in 1964.
Was selected as a Member of the First Indian Women’s Expedition to a peak called “Mrigathuni in Garhwal Himalayas” in October 1964.
Founder of the Karnataka Mountaineering Association in 1966. At present a life Member of the Association.
Participated in trekking programmes organised by the Youth Hostels Association to Kulu Himalayas inj 1972 and 1975.
Attended Mountaineering Training at the Swiss Climbing School, Meiringen, Switzerland in 1970. Later visited Italy, London, Paris to visit Guide Training Centres.
Participated in trekking programmes to Valley of Flowers (1980), Gir Forest in Gujarat (1981) organised by the Climbers and Explorers Club, New Delhi.
Leader of the First all Ladies Expedition to Bundar Punch (Now Block Peak) – 20,956 Feet in Garhwal (1981), organised by Karnataka Mountaineering Association, Bangalore.
Leader of the Second Ladies Expedition to Hanuman Tibba – 19450 feet in Western Himalayas – June 1983, organised by Karnataka Mountaineering Association.
Deputy Leader of the Mountaineering Expedition to Mt. Menthosa in 1994 (Mtr 6444 Mtrs) in H.P., organised by the Foundation for Nature Exploration and Environmental Conservation, Bangalore.
Assisted at Staff at a number of trekking programmes at various places in the State and Himachal Pradehsh.
Trekked in Gangotri, Kedar, Badrinath, Tunganath area along during 1997 and 1999.
As a Leader Trainer of the Bharat Scouts & Guides, conducted several camps for Adult Leaders (Guides) and Guides Camps. Retired in the year as an Office Manager in the year 1999.
After retirement joined the Sanctuary Asia Magazine as an Assistant to the Coordinator in Bangalore, Mrs. Sheila Appa in 2000.
During 2000, was fully asked to take over the KFT activities in Bangalore.
From 2000 to date I have been coordinating all the KFT activities in Bangalore like organising
Teacher workshops.

Conducting nature walks for school students.
Attended KFT national camps at Ranthambhore, Pench, Tadoba, Melghat, Bhor, as a Coordinator with student and teacher.
Attended Regional camps at Bhadra Tiger Reserve, Bandipur National Park, etc.
Attended coordinators meet at Mumbai and also the National Award function of the Sanctuary Asia Magazine.
Rastrapathi Guide Award of the Bharat Scouts & Guides in 1959.
Received the Golden Jubilee Medal for standing First in the First Aid competition in 1965 by St. John’s Ambulance Association. Received the Award from Sri V.V. Giri.
Dasara State Award as a Mountaineer sponsored by the Government of Karnataka in 1968.
Dasara State Award for the promotion of Mountaineering in the year 1989 by the Government of Karnataka.
Presented the Golden beads by the Bharat Scouts & Guides for long service as a Trainer in 1999.
Felicitated by the Mount Carmal College (my Alma Mater) as one of the Achiever of the College in 1998.
Awarded the Asia Pacific Regional Certificate in the year 2012, a Leadership Award for Unit Leaders.
Felicited by the Bharat Scouts & Guides for long and dedicated service to the organisation in the year 2014.
At present still a Coordinator of KFT, only coordinating a teachers group online.
